Anyone with that image in mind would probably find it difficult to understand the mission of Network 2012 to provide financial awards to “the homeless” and other financially disadvantaged groups to start their own business or social enterprise. Some of us were lucky, some privileged, and some of us have been able to achieve a level of economic security where we never have to worry about the necessities for the rest of our lives. These events give communities the opportunity to make decisions on how and where investment is spent in their area – for example employability initiatives, projects that encourage volunteering, and training for young people.
